Sport fishing in Ogulin has a long tradition. Sport Fishing Club was founded in Ogulin 1921st years and today has about four hundred members organized into ten regional branches. Activities are aimed at management and water conservation, water protection, fish stocks and the environment, development of fishing tourism and improvement of sport fishing. The Company has three dozen hatcheries and rearing streams so quality fish fry fish fund balance maintained in accordance with the fishery management plan.

The club manages fifteen salmonid rivers and streams, and three accumulation lakes. The total length of the river is 128 km and the surface of 417 ha. All these waters are located in the town Ogulin and municipality Josipdol, Oštarije, Tounj, Plaski and Saborsko, and bordering the waters surrounding the fishing clubs from Vrbovsko, Duga Resa and Slunj. Fishing waters are Upper Dobra with tributary Vitunjčica, Lower Dobra and its tributaries Bistrac, Ribnik, Licka Jesenica, Tounjcica - Rudnica, Mreznica, Vrelo Jasenak, and accumulation lakes Sabljaci, Bukovnik and Lesce.
Because of the danger of mines fishing not recommended on Trzicka Mreznica, Rudnica and Vrljika, a possible fishing is done on personal responsibility.
The main types of fish that can be found in waters managed by the SRD Ogulin is the brown trout, rainbow trout, marble trout, grayling, common minow, bullhead, grass carp, common carp, tench, pike, zander, european chub, paduc, danubian roach, common barbel, and catch it is at the discretion of the club on the mode of fishing. In villages with water natives have their own names for certain kinds of fish
